“As the XJ was the last model designed by Sir William Lyons, he is said to have said that he had just designed a completely new car, superior to all others in every respect and that it would be in production for a minimum of seven years. It stayed for over twenty… The Mk. I, is still considered by many today as one of the most beautiful saloons ever produced and at the time, Road Test magazine claimed that if the price were doubled, it would still be a great buy.”
