For sale is an Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring SpiderVery well restoredThe Alfa Romeo 2600 is the series manufactured from 1961 to 1969, which was produced as the Berlina (sedan), Spider (open 2+2 seater) and Sprint (coupe). The Spider (Type 106.01) was produced from the beginning of 1961 to the end of 1965 by the Italian coachbuilder "Carrozzeria Touring" in Milan. As the successor to the Alfa Romeo 2000, the focus during development was mainly on the desire for more engine power. Because the four-cylinder with a maximum of 115 hp was already taken over from its predecessor, the 1900. In the tradition of the Alfa Romeo 6C (= 6 cilindri / 6 cylinders) they got to work and changed the body of the 2000 in such a way that there was a little more space in the engine compartment. Alfa Romeo's visionary engine designers then created a real sensation at the time with the newly developed 2.6 liter engine. The six-cylinder in-line engine has an aluminum block and, thanks to its two overhead camshafts and three twin Solex carburettors, delivers over 145 hp from 2584 cc. That was enough for a top speed of around 200 km/h and driving performance that was at the level of the Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda at the time. A vehicle in this condition is rarely available. The sale is on behalf of a customer.
