Seller's comments about 1969' Alfa Romeo Spider (Duetto)
We are excited to offer this well preserved, original UK RHD example of the Alfa Romeo Spider “Boat-tail”, with the junior 1300 engine, following completion of a total restoration in 2012. One of just 180 RHD “Juniors” built, this stunning example was registered as manufactured on the 28th January 1969, and sold to Alfa Romeo London on the 13th May that same year, then purchased by a Mr Graham Monk in Clapham. The Alfa Romeo Centro Documentazione have also provided the current owner with confirmation that chassis number its AR1695245 corresponds to this Duetto, with an original factory specification of Dutch Blue over an Amaranth Skai interior. Prior to the current vendor’s purchase of ALR 35H, around 2012 the spider underwent a very comprehensive restoration, which saw the car completely stripped, taken back to bare metal and professionally resprayed in its original Dutch Blue colour, a complete engine and gearbox rebuild and a re-upholstered and fresh trim interior with the original dash reconditioned and refitted, and new seats, carpets and seals. This is all documented within a picture file that accompanies the car, however unfortunately no paperwork was retained for the works. It is apparent that following the restoration works, the condition of car has remained very well preserved during a careful ownership, presented as as a very tidy and correctly maintained example. Invoices from the history file show that the Alfa has been serviced frequently during its current ownership of the last 12 years, and all necessary works have been carried out. We are also unfortunately unable to verify if the current mileage displayed is genuine. All in all, this is a very straight and genuine example that will certainly provide the proper “Boat-tail” experience to any next owner. Viewings strictly by appointment only.
