YEAR: 1926 COACHWORK: COMPTON ENGINE: 1645cc PRICE: PLEASE ENQUIRE Built 2/ 9/ 26 with Cross and Ellis body the first owner was a Barrister. A subsequent owner dismantled the car in 1948 for spares. Then purchased by a former Alvis Register historian who never had time for a rebuild. Finally the present owner purchased the Kit of Parts in 2007. In conjunction with Chris Compton of Welshpool an Aluminium body with lightweight steel frame was made and the car built with a high specification, modified engine with Big Port Head, Phoenix crankshaft, overdrive, twin SU's and many AR sourced parts. With leather seats, tonneau, hood and aero screens the car is ready for anything. Events enjoyed include Hill Climbs and Sprints with eligibility for VSCC special (Buff) category and having the ability to cruise smoothly to events at 65 mph . Nicknamed `Mr Toad` this is a fun car but also an example of fine engineering and know-how and will provide many years of pleasure to its new owner.
