Seller's comments about 1930' Alvis Silver Eagle

Just arrived at The Garage!1930 Alvis Silver Eagle 16. 95 TourerFrom the mid-1920s, 6-cylinder engines were gaining popularity being synonymous with quality motoring.  Alvis introduced their 6-cylinder model during 1927 designated 14. 75.  This new model owed much to the existing 12/ 50 4-cylinder model and was thoroughly well equipped with a variety of different types of coachwork available.  Towards the end of 1928, the engine capacity was to be increased from 1870cc to 2148cc and the 14. 75 was superseded by the 16. 95.
A new title was bestowed upon the car in the Spring of 1929 when it was designated ‘Silver Eagle’.
This example originally left the works with Atlantic Saloon coachwork by Carbodies which was subsequently replaced with replica tourer dual cowl coachwork in more recent times.
Finished in maroon and black this very purposeful car has been well maintained with considerable expenditure with an Alvis specialist.  The upholstery and trim are all in excellent order.  A recent extensive mechanical overhaul is understood to have been carried out in 2014-2015 by highly regarded marque specialist. Full details, additional photographs and a video will be updated shortly. To register your interest drop us an email at using the button below
