Seller's comments about 1931' Aston Martin 2 Litre

1932 Aston Martin 1 1/2 litre International's Le Mans.

Chassis number: A1/97

Engine number: A1/97

Registration Number: GN8254

Very Rare & sought after with just 7 or so cars built. Created during the crossover period between two models, this car has features of both the International and later Le Mans models and is built on a Le Mans chassis.

The AMOC register lists the car as a 2 Seat Le Mans. The bodywork is absolutley correct & matches that shown in period pictures with the first owner the comedian Jimmy Nervo at the wheel who was known to have raced the car in period.

The car is freshly restored & ready for competition. The engine has a full & complete rebuild with bills available from Marque specialists. It is exremely fast, despite being still in the running in phase having covered just a few hundred miles.

The bodywork by Ecurie Bertelli is finished in the cars original colour of racing red. To the interior is brand new "aged" brown leather giving the car a vintage feel. A plethora of paperwork comes with the car attesting to its authenticity & hisrtory.

Being an early example of the few cars built it is mille miglia eligible & very well suited to the event.

A letter comes with the car from the famed driver Rivers Fletcher: "In those times everyone had been enthusiastic about the international model then at the 1931 Olympia Motor Show Aston Martin went one better with the two seater Le Mans model. It was stunningly beautiful & my friend Jimmy Nervo of the famous comedy duo "Nervo & Knox" who starred with Flannigan & Allan at the London Palladium bought one of the first. We drove it together & I found out it had all the fine attributes of a long distance sports racing car & was nearly as fast as the sports Bentleys to which I was accustomed."
