Stored as part of a private collection since returning from restoration

The Aston Martin DB2/ 4 Mark II was produced from October 1955 to August 1957. The chassis numbers ran from AM300/ 1101 to AM300/ 1299. As David Brown had bought Tickford of Newport Pagnell in 1954, the bodywork for the Mark II was made there, rather than Mulliner, who had produced the bodies for the Mark I versions. Only a comparatively small number of mark iis were made, 199 in total with at least 16 drophead coupes and 34 fixed head coupes, all of which were fitted with the more powerful ‘VB6J’ three litre engines, rated at 140bhp which provided a top speed of 118mph.

Our car is one of the last of the 34 DB2/ 4 Fixed Head Coupés made, 16 of which were delivered in the UK. These are among the rarest and most desirable of all post-war Aston Martins. The car has been owned by us since 2008, having been owned by the previous keeper since 1963.

Chassis number AM300/ 1283 was subject to a fully documented major restoration by marque specialists Aston Workshop between 2008 and 2010 at a cost of £200, 000. since then, the car has been carefully stored as part of our private collection in temperature-controlled premises. It has been regularly turned over and started but has covered zero miles since it returned from restoration at Aston Workshop.

An original RHD model, the car is presented in the stunning colour combination of Peacock Blue with silver roof and the interior has been fully retrimmed to the highest standard possible in Connolly grey leather with contrasting blue Wilton carpet. Period correct painted wire wheels are fitted.

This superb, restored example would be a significant addition to any important private collection, with the unique additional advantage of purchasing direct from the current long-term owner, rather than through a dealer or broker.

The car comes with some history and photographs prior to its restoration and all the invoices and full details of the work carried out by Aston Workshop and current uk v5c registration document.

Available for viewing in West Yorkshire in Northern England, UK.
