Seller's comments about 1969' Aston Martin DB6

This is a magnificent example and one with true provenance. Finished in its original rare colour of Dubonet Rosso, a full history warranting just 67200 miles from new, impressive original specification to include 5 speed manual gearbox and power assisted steering, upgrade to Vantage specification, and body restoration and engine rebuild carried out by Aston Martin Newport Pagnell, this is without doubt a car for the discerning buyer and truly rare opportunity.H. R. Owen supplied the car to its first London-based owner in September of 1969 in the stunning Dubonet Rosso with Connolly Fawn hide. The first owner returned to the supplying dealer for servicing at 540, 1391, 2445, 5086, 7300, and 9912 miles all in the first 3 years of his ownership. In 1972, the DB6 moved to its second owner in Torquay whom it remained with for 13 years being serviced at 12626, 15196, 17872, 20567, 24532, 29154, 32202, 42030, and 45926 miles. The Aston Martin came into the hands of a long-term Aberdeenshire owner in 1985 where the meticulous upkeep continued and it was this owner who commissioned a thorough restoration with Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell.By 1989 whilst the car had been regularly used and mechanically very well maintained, the body required some attention. Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell carried out a thorough bare metal respray and restoration of the bodywork. The owner clearly demanding only the very best for this DB6. Although 40 years have passed since the paintwork was carried out, only 17, 000 miles have been covered proving the bodywork was carried out to a first class, world class standard. Whilst in the care of the third owner, in 1991 a major engine rebuild was commissioned along with a rebuild of the carburettors, again utilising Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnel to carry out the work. Following the engine rebuild, the car returned to Aston Martin for its next 2 services at 49952 and 51224 miles.Oselli were trusted with the Aston Martin in 1994 to transform the fuelling system of MKX139H to the Vantage specification, overhauling the cylinder head, fitting a new manifold, and importantly replacing the carbs for triple Webers. While they upgraded the intake system, they also sought to rebuild the brake servo and gave the car a thorough check over again when they serviced it at 52286 miles. From this point the DB6 was covering ultra low mileage, mainly short but regular trips with a fastidious attitude to routine maintenance continuing with servicing at 56027, 57826, 60204, 61573, 61984, and 62365 miles. In 2011, the DB6 came into the hands of one of our long-standing customers, a classic car collector and businessman based in North Yorkshire. At 66, 700 miles, the car went to the Northeast specialists Aston Martin Workshop for a check over, annual service and MOT test. MKX 139H now stands beautifully with just 67, 200 miles from new having been garage-kept and held amongst a prestigious collection of cars. Prior to arriving with us the Aston Martin has been prepared for sale, and goes onto the market in beautiful condition throughout, and is mechanically in superb condition. Alongside the car is a comprehensive history file containing receipts for the extensive expenditure, service history and the original bill of sale from 1969.
