Be careful that this is not a REPLICA.
AUBURN SPEEDSTERS BOATTAIL of all the time are of 3 groups:
- 1st Generation (400-500 cars produced during the “Cord era” 1935-1937, called 851 and 852),
- 2nd Generation (113 cars produced during the “Glenn Pray era” 1968-1981, called 866) and
- more than 1000 COPIES produced by 24 different manufacturers without the rights on the Auburn Trademark (for this reasons called REPLICAS, produced from the 1968 until today).
This is the FIRST 866 produced by Glenn Pray, as you can see from the Certificate of Authenticity signed by Mr Felix DeGEYTER, the General Manager of the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Co. still in place, more than 80 years old and
from the picture taken at the key handover personally done by Mr Glenn Pray to Gen. E. C. R. LASHER, President & Chief Executive Officer of the North American Car Corp. in the April 1968.

The original yellow color has been changed to the actual black/creamy white with the written consent of the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Co. (email annexed to the below mentioned book).

The car has been totally rebuilt (Body/Chassis-Interior-Engine-GearBox-Brakes-Clutch-Gauges-etc.) and can drive along any distances (I personally use it every day and I have driven it from MonteCarlo to Cannes, St. Tropez, Turin, etc.).
In case of real interest only, you can ask me for the book I have made concerning the history of the Company, of this particular car (VIN. A-866-101)
