Fantastic Original 1935 Austin Twelve-Four Ascot HBX Barn Find For restoration, originally registered 24TH May 1935 in Rochdale

Austin introduced this Ascot in August 1934. It was made by fitting a 1535 cc side-valve, four-cylinder engine with 24 bhp output into the same chassis as they had been making since late 1930 for their six-cylinder 12/6 which was also in the same 12 hp class. This new four-cylinder engine was coupled to a four-speed synchromesh gearbox with sync on 2nd 3rd and 4th introduced at the same time.

With the better Bowden cable operated front brakes added in October 1934.

The chassis is very conventional, with semi-elliptic leaf springs on all wheels and rigid axles front and rear. Wire wheels are fitted as standard.

I saved this beautiful completely original car today and it is ready for either a sympathetic restoration or a full and complete rebuild.

The engine is stripped but seems to be complete should you wish to use it and the gear box is still mounted in the car.

The chassis is solid but with surface rust. The wooden floors will need replacing as you would expect.

She has her full original green leather interior and originally would have been all black with the maroon being added later.

I have the old style v5c so keeping the original and valuable registration number ADK 169 will not be a problem

Everything else you can see in photos but if you have a question or need more or different photos please just ask.
