AUSTIN SEVEN “7” RUBY 1936 DRIVE AWAY & ENJOY TODAY WITH A NEW MOT
£6995

Pleased to offer yet another really good Austin Seven, it really is a gem of a car and wants nothing but enjoying, it even has the essential wicker picnic hamper ready to pack up the nibbles and head off for some motoring adventures.
Please ask to see our YouTube video which shows you the whole car, driving, being driven, a walk round and a full 5 minute tour of the underside and engine bay, link supplied on request or find it by searching “Austin Seven 1936 For Sale Catlowdy” on YouTube.
Very well presented and great fun, 1936 Austin Seven Ruby, it has a lovely smart interior that anyone will happily climb into and solid coachwork with a very deep shine to the paint, its ready to admire and enjoy, all running and operating as intended and has clearly been cherished by a caring owner, everything very well maintained and in good serviceable order.
It has lovely little touches that show it’s been cherished, period tools dotted about the car in the dash, under the seat and in the bulkhead tool box, little paint dots on the wheels to make sure they go back on the same way, modern indicators fitted with no drilling of the dash or body, the leather strap for the staring handle, just little touches. Comes with a lift off picnic hamper sitting on the fold away luggage rack. A sliding seat base has been added on the driver’s side, as well as helping with taller drivers, it also makes getting in and out much easier.
The pictures say it all, the car has massive amounts of charm, you can’t drive it without a grin on your face, a smile every mile guaranteed, it’s just as clean and solid underneath as you see on top, watch the video we show every bit of the underside, the tyres are a nearly new matching set with no age cracks or splits. Everything is very well greased up, the brake cables and adjusters are all moving freely, the chassis is in solid condition and the included workshop manuals are well thumbed through as often seen on well-maintained cars.
No untoward bangs, clang’s or rattles as you move along, gears select easily with a sharp clutch, 4 speed gearbox, brakes work very well (see video), good handbrake, without doubt the best brakes we’ve had on an Austin Seven in recent memory, they are set up spot on. The lights work and modern indicators have been discreetly fitted (old trafficators still in place on the door pillar’s), the horn and wiper work, the pre-electronic air conditioning (titling windscreen) operates and the winding side windows glide up and down and the sliding sunroof works, with everything open on a hot day it’s delightful.
We have the current modern logbook, several older logbooks, its HPI clear, there’s some old MOT’s, service / parts invoices, an old tax disc, some leaflets, an original owner’s handbook, a large workshop manual and another manual all in a chunky box file. The car benefits from free “Historic” road tax and is MOT exempt, but we have still presented for an MOT and it comes with a ticket valid until August 2025, with no advisories and does not require to be renewed unless the buyer desires it.
It presents really well and will be admired wherever you go, paint finish is far above average for one of these prewar cars, it’s not immaculate and very close inspection will find minor imperfections as with any 80+ year old car.. The clutch is sharp, no slip or spin, you just have to be aware it’s not your modern car, once you’ve done a few changes you are quickly trained up on the old ways, I had delightful 20 miles round trip to the MOT station and back, the car never missed a beat.
Have some fun with your savings, you bank manager isn’t doing you any favours with your boring ISA, tick the box off your bucket list and own a vintage car, won’t be worth any less when you’ve had your enjoyment, these cars are currently excellent value for money.
A great value Austin Seven, no other available will be this well demonstrated, its ideal for a buyer who just wants to enjoy motoring adventures not take on a renovation.
