We are privileged to be offering this car on the open market for the first time in 60 years, it really is a gem of a car and wants nothing but enjoying, current owner since 1986 and his father or uncle before that from 1965, cherished throughout the years in excellent all round condition and complete with a host of spare parts and tools tucked in the storage boxes under the seats and bonnet, plus every logbook issued and a huge history file crammed with documents, old MOTs, tax discs and invoices, it’s a one time opportunity to own a very special little Austin, sold with a new MOT & serviced ready to enjoy.

Very well presented and great fun, 1937 Austin Seven Ruby Deluxe, it has a lovely smart interior that anyone will happily climb into for some motoring adventures, solid coachwork with a very deep shine to the paint, its ready to admire and enjoy, all running and operating as intended and has clearly been cherished by the caring family custodians for the last 60 years, everything very well maintained and in good serviceable order.
It has lovely little touches that show it’s been loved, period tools, spare parts, bubs, motoring equipment all dotted about the car in the dash, under the seat’s and in the bulkhead toolbox, everywhere is crammed with a huge assortment of period and items.
The pictures say it all, the car has massive amounts of charm, you can’t drive it without a grin on your face, a smile every mile guaranteed, it’s just as clean and solid underneath as you see on top, watch the video we show every bit of the underside, the tyres are all good with no age cracks or splits. Everything is very well greased up, the brake cables and adjusters are all moving freely, the chassis is in solid condition and the included owner’s manual is well thumbed through as often seen on well-maintained cars.
No untoward bangs, clang’s or rattles as you move along, gears select easily with a sharp clutch, 4 speed gearbox that does not jump out of first gear, brakes work very well (see video), good handbrake all working spot on. The lights all work, old trafficators still in place on the door pillar’s, the horn and wiper work, winding side windows glide up and down front and rear and the sliding sunroof works, even has the little drivers sun visor fitted.
We have the current modern logbook, several older logbooks, its HPI clear, there’s some old MOT’s, masses of service / parts invoices, an old tax disc, some leaflets, an original owner’s handbook, a large workshop manual and another manual all in a chunky box file. The car benefits from free “Historic” road tax and is MOT exempt, but we have still presented for an MOT and it comes with a ticket valid until August 2025, with no advisories and does not require to be renewed unless the buyer desires it.
The car is pictured and videoed exactly as it arrived from 60 years in the same family, we felt it important the buyer should see it as it is, it will be hovered and polished inside and out before it leaves, it presents really well and will be admired wherever you go, paint finish is far above average for one of these prewar cars, it’s not immaculate and very close inspection will find minor imperfections as with any 80+ year old car.
For the buyers peace of mind the car will be serviced with new classic motor oil, antifreeze topped up, gearbox and rear diff oil levels checked and in the unlikely event something has been missed it will be greased and lubricated.
