1958' Austin A55 Cambridge Mk1

I'm at a period in my life where i feel its time i should seriously consider.albeit reluctantly the idea of reducing my classic car and motorcycle collection and this is the first attempt. Having had my Austin Cambridge lurking in the back of the garage for the last couple of years,last year i felt it was time to bring her back out into the light and with the help of a little recommissioning get her back on the road where she belongs.

And here she is...... Austin Cambridge A55 Mk1.This model is fairly rare today due to having a production run of only 18 months. My Austin was registered on the 13th May 1958 and issued with the now valuable registration number 808 BYA (BOBBY A ). This number has previously been valued at £5000+..... She still retains this original transferable number.

I've owned BOBBY for around 5 years now but used her very little. the mileometer reads 49900 which i feel could easily be correct. I don't believe that this car has ever been a restoration project or been the subject of a full rebuild,shes just a lovely genuine old car that has always been looked after and well maintained all her 59 years. With this in mind she runs and drives superb unlike some freshly restored cars that can run harsh and troublesome at times (that's only my opinion ).

Last year the brakes were rebuilt witew wheel cylinders and brake shoes,a full engine,running gear and chassis service and check over,new battery. Obviously the Austin is now M.O.T. exempt but would be happy to mot test or allow an independent vehicle inspector to look her over at the purchasers cost. With the maintenance complete i decided to have both rear wings professionally repaired and repainted just to make her right.With no signs of any major replating anywhere so other than than the rear wings repair,a set of carpets this car remains essentially very original which is extremely rare on today's market.
drivers hand held search lamp,lucas driving lamps and a metal sunvisor complete the picture making this a very attractive period british saloon classic car.

Included is the original owners handbook and a good history file of previous regular maintenance and M.O.T. certificates so with her beautiful looks,smooth and easy to use four on the tree gears,red leather interior,huge steering wheel shes ready to be enjoyed over the summer season and beyond by her lucky new owner....
