1928' Austin Austin 7 Seven Chummy

A charming little Chummy, which has come on the market only because of poor health. This is a very nice, original car, first registered in May 1928 - we have buff log books going back to this date and continuation books following on, all confirming that the car still retains its original registration. We think the engine is probably the original, the numbers certainly suggest that this is likely. Originally running on a magneto, but recently converted to coil, the magneto comes with the car. This car looks to be nice and sound and very original underneath, but the paintwork is very crazed, and you would either live with this as part of its history or repaint the car - we like it as it is. The interior is very good, as are the hood and side screens, which are canvas. The car starts easily and runs well, with the dynamo charging nicely. 3-speed gearbox and start motor all operate fine and the car runs along well. The brakes are non-coupled but work fine for and Austin Seven. Indicators have been fitted for safety and a battery cut-out switch has been added. The tyres are quite old, but apart from these, it is ready for use. These scuttle headlamp Chummys are becoming harder to find and are often quite expensive. We have priced this realistically, so no offers on this one. Comes with V5C some old MOTS and a few old invoices.
