Seller's comments about 1938' Austin Avk
This is a 1938 Austin 7 AVK van, which was based on a MK 2 Ruby with the original engine number. The conversion was (at the time of first registration) done by Vincent of Reading for Mr J England. and there have been 4 other owners including myself since. As can be seen in the photo records I have taken the vehicle back to it chassis and rebuilt it again cleaning and repairing everything in the process. I have replaced all the road springs, removed and replaced all the bearings in the rear axle with new bearings, fitted new king pins, refurbished the gear box (by a professional), overhauled the engine, fitted a new wiring loom. replaced all the steering linkage, replaced the steering box, refurbished the horn & semaphore switches, taken the chassis back to bear metal and red oxide gloss painted and undersealed it, the body was removed and the underneath repaired as needed, red oxide and glossed,, the main body of the vehicle has been taken back to bear metal etched primed and glossed, the wheel have been powder coated, the inside has been re upholstered, the doors were stripped and red oxide before new door cards were fitted, new window winders fitted, the windscreen has been polished (by a professional glass polisher) to remove 81 years of use, it has 4 new tyres and (for safety see & be seen) it has all LED bulbs 6v, the semaphores have been refurbished (by a professional). You will go a long way to find a late van and even further to find one in this excellent condition. WHAT IT NEEDS NOW It needs to go to a good home, one that will care and use it to its full potential, service and maintain it for generations to come.
