Offered for sale we have an extensively restored 1965 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8. According to the British Motor industry heritage certificate available with the car this particular vehicle was built on the 16th- 17th November 1964 and dispatched to the very sunny (and sometimes very wet and windy!) streets and beaches of Miami. Unusually for an imported vehicle the history file does contain quite a few invoices from time spent in the states for various tune ups, replacement parts and a respray all done professionally in the Miami area. The Healey returned to UK shores via Liverpool docks in 1988 and was sold its next buyer all the way up North in Ayrshire, Scotland. Mr Mackintosh, who kept the car until 2017 used the car regularly for shows and road rallies covering roughly 35, 000 miles in his ownership mostly up and down the highlands of Scotland. By 2017 the car had found a new owner who decided to take the car off the road for some remedial mechanical work and to tidy up some areas of bodywork. This work snowballed into an almost complete restoration with highlights including a bare metal respray, rebuilt engine with unleaded cylinder head, fast road cam shaft for added power, clutch and over drive unit, fuel tank, interior, stainless steel exhaust and so much more. The current owner estimates over £100, 000 has been spent in total most of which is represented by invoices in the service file. The result is a totally sorted car in superb condition which needs for absolutely nothing just ready to be driven and enjoyed. A recent back injury has sadly put pay to the current owners ability to use the car so it’s up for grabs at a huge discount on what it would cost to build this car- an absolute bargain
