1961' Austin Healey 3000 Mk1

Nicely "nuts and bolts" restored 1961 Austin Healey 3000 MK1 BT7 (2+2 seater) with black interior with red piping. With a black soft top and a nice set of plexi glass sliding side screens. The power comes from the six in line 2912 cc engine with 2 SU carburetors producing 125 hp and lots of torque. Attached to a 4 speed manual side shift gearbox with overdrive. Girling disc brakes at the front and drums in the rear.

This big Healey was produced around July 1960 and has most of the options offered then: chrome wire wheels, overdrive gearbox, laminated windscreen and heater. During 30 years this car was cherished by the last owner (since 1986). A complete set of service invoices between 1986 and 2006 proof that the car has been driven and properly maintained every year. During 2007/2008 the car was then completely restored. The panel and body restoration was done in Pennsylvania costing about 10.300 $. The mechanical restoration was undertaken by a specialist in Maryland. Invoices of parts and labor proofs that following work was undertaken: Complete engine rebuild including: reboring block to oversize pistons, cylinder head rebuilt with new valves and seats, regrinding crankshaft and camshaft, connecting rod rebuild, balancing of crankshaft and flywheel, new bearings, gaskets, distribution gears and chain, water pump, new clutch. Rebuilding gearbox and overdrive. Rebuilding master brake cylinder, dynamo and starter motor. For a total of more than 12.000 $. After this restoration the car moved with the owner to Florida in 2009. The car was driven on a regular basis and remained in a very good overall condition.
