We have for sale this very nice Austin Healey 3000 Mk1 BT7 from long term ownership.

A lovely straight car, which was restored about 18 years ago & returned to its original Colorado Red colour.

The engine has been uprated, with a fast road camshaft, raised compression, twin 2” SU carburettors & a fast road exhaust system. This gives the car more punch, without losing any of its smoothness & drive-ability.

The gearbox & overdrive have nice crisp, easy actions. The whole transmission is quiet in operation.

The front suspension has also been stiffened a little to improve handling, again without sacrificing drive-ability & comfort.

The paintwork is very presentable, but as you would imagine, not immaculate after 18 years of regular use. This included numerous UK & continental European tours.

The interior is lovely, with nicely patinated original specification leather seats & wood rimmed steering wheel. All instruments are original. The hood & tonneau are in very good condition.

The wheels are 72 spoke chrome wires, with Vredestein tyres.

The very detailed & nicely presented history file contains many pictures of the restoration, which happened soon after the car was re-imported in 1988. Invoices dating back to 1989, MOT’s dating back to 1988 with some gaps, copies of several previous logbooks & an original driver’s handbook.

The current owner has enjoyed the car for the past 15 years & is only selling it due to poor health.

Although no longer a requirement, the car will be supplied with a new full MOT.
