The Le Mans modified cars were the very first prototype Austin Healey race cars and therefore are often restored to this specification level and extensively used in Vintage Racing and Rallying around the World. This 1955 Austin Healey Le Mans fills all the strict modification requirements to qualify as a Le Mans by the official World Register set up by Donald Healey in the State of California USA. This cars registration in the above Register dates back to 2006. This unique model is recognised by the Registrar as being fitted with the necessary modifications as fitted to Austin Healeys first 24 hour Le Mans race cars. It also carries brass engine plates supplied by the Registrar to further indicate its authenticity.
