Seller's comments about 1964' Austin-Healey Sprite Mk Iii
I purchased this in 1990 and in nearly 30 years of ownership have only driven 800 miles! It has been garaged all its life.
Fitted with Spax adjustable rear shocks. Comes with the now rather rare Bermuda hardtop (although it does require some attention to look good - but doesn't leak).
New items (before respray 31 years ago):- 1) Fuel Tank 2) Both Doors 3) Bonnet 4) Boot Lid 5) Wiring Loom (cloth covered) 6) Interior including dashboard. 7) Soft top 8) Brake & Clutch Master Cylinder and Battery (within last couple of weeks)
Things that don't work:-
1) The rev counter (it never has done).
The bodywork/paintwork is in pretty good condition. There is a slight crazing to the bonnet and bootlid when up really close but from a normal viewpoint looks pretty good. It looks like after 30 years it requires a T-Cut in places. There is no rust bubbling anywhere. There is a mark on the rear shroud where the hardtop has been sitting for 30 years. Again this may be quite easy to polish out. The chromework is original so the bumpers are pitted.
This would be an ideal starter classic for someone. It is fully roadworthy and the engine pulls very well with no smoke. Oil pressure is 40-70 psi when running and 15-25 psi idling, depending on temperature. I also have the original steering wheel and horn push.
