We are very pleased to offer one of the nicest and charming MK2 Minis that I have had the pleasure of owning, driving and working on, a 1969 Austin Mini MK2 Super De Luxe. This stunning example had one family owner until 2000 and had lived a charmed life in sunny Jersey. It has an excellent provenance and is accompanied with its original handbook, buff logbook, previous V5's, heritage certificate, passport to service book and raft of service receipts. It has only covered a genuine 58 thousand miles in 54 years. This is a full matching numbers example with its correct commission number, FE number, floor pan tag and original etched glass. It really is a joy to behold. It was restored to a very high standard some years ago and has settled in nicely and now is surely one of the best of the now super rare MK2 Minis available anywhere.
On the road this MK2 is an absolute pleasure to drive. The original engine, that was fully rebuilt at the time of the restoration, is near silent and holds an excellent oil pressure. The gearbox is smooth and precise and performance is brisk, the ride is super smooth thanks to the completely overhauled Hydrolastic suspension and the handling is sharp on the ten inch wheels. Above and beyond that this Mini offers an excellent driving experience and it really feels like a privilege to drive and you will not be able to stop yourself from smiling. This is also a very easy and willing Mini to drive and it has the feel of a car ready to be driven anywhere.
The interior is in stunning condition and is amazingly all original except from the carpet. The seats, door cards and roof liner are all as they were in 1969. It has the the all important three clock centre binnacle and large steering wheel. This model also had an optional extra heated rear screen. It is a total time warp inside and a testament to this Minis cared for life.
This Mini has a beautiful shell and has had a comprehensive restoration and is body coloured underneath with a high level of detailing, further pics are on the website. The paintwork is gleaming and it really does belie its vintage. It is in its original factory specification and all period correct as it left Longbridge in 1969. It could sit proudly on any display, be the envy of your friends or make you smile on the open road.
We have fully serviced, checked, driven and tuned this little gem, it has full 12 months and it is also MOT and Tax exempt.
