We are very pleased to offer a real slice of the seventies, a 1976 Austin Mini 1000, one of the last of the Mk3 Minis built and with all of it's correct original features and presented in a wonderful ready to use and enjoy condition. Finished in very rare Tahiti blue, a colour that was used for less than a year during 1976. It has had only four previous owners in 46 years, one of which cared for it for 25 years. It is a full matching numbers example and has its original commission number and body tag. It is accompanied with a large service history folder which includes the original handbooks, many MOT certificates and a raft of service receipts. It 2019 it was refurbished to a very good standard, it received many new parts and now offers an excellent daily classic proposition and a Mini that is easily good enough to be displayed at any show.
It is a real pleasure to drive a Classic Mini from this era. Seventies Minis offer the pure Mini driving experience, ten inch wheels, centre binnacle and large three spoke steering wheel, this is all you need to get out on the open road and enjoy the way these cars make you smile. This example drives like it is just a few years old, the near silent 998 engine is very healthy with strong oil pressure and the performance will certainly surprise as it easily keeps up with modern traffic, it just cannot be faulted out on the open road It also benefits from having a suspension and brake overhaul so the handling is fantastic and it stops very well indeed.
The interior is very well presented and benefits from a recent retrim whilst still looking original. The seats and door cards have been replaced as has the roof liner all to a very good standard giving a quality feel throughout, it also has a matching carpet set and a centre console that has a CD/ AUX stereo housed in it and two extra speakers under the rear seats. The all important three clock binnacle and original steering wheel are present and correct and this model also had a optional extra rear heated screen and was the last year of the two switch centre panel and manual windscreen wash.
This Mini has a super solid bodyshell with body coloured floors pans, solid sills and boot floor, the boot is also fully lined. It also benefits from a new rear subframe. The paintwork gleams and is fantastic condition that belies it near 50 year vintage, and a new set of Minilite wheels finish of the looks of this fantastic Mini. Whoever drives this Mini will instantly appreciate how nice it is and will enjoy it as much as I have.
We have fully serviced, checked, driven and tuned this little gem, it passed the MOT so it has full 12 months and it is also MOT and Tax exempt.
