1979' Austin Mini

We are very pleased to offer an absolutely stunning example of a now very rare 1979 Austin Mini City 850. Finished in Pageant blue with contrasting "City" decals this very lucky Mini has undergone a comprehensive restoration to show condition with bills totalling many thousands. This lovely little gem gets nothing but admiration as not only are City 850 Minis very rare, finding one in this condition is virtually unique and gives its lucky new owner the chance to own an example how it would of looked all the way back in 1979. The Mini was also featured in Mini World magazine feature in 2020. The Mini is accompanied with a large service history folder detailing parts used during the restoration and service and MOT receipts including the original Passport to service book. It has only covered 48k with just five previous owners in 45 years. City 850 Minis were only manufactured with a very short production run in 79 and as such are the last of the 850's with a single clock binnacle and those very retro City side decals. I have not seen another City 850 for a very long time so you can rest assured that you will be driving a very rare Classic Mini indeed.
Driving this Mini is an absolute joy. I have always been a big fan of the 850 engine. It offers the pure Mini driving experience combined with the ten inch wheels. They are robust and very revvy engines and the original engine in this Mini is no exception, she easily cruises at modern speeds and wills you to push it through the gears making a very engaging driving experience. The gearbox is taught and precise and as you would imagine with all new suspension and running gear the handling is pin sharp and exactly how a Mini should be.
The interior is very well presented and features its original Hounds Tooth check trim. It also benefits from a new Newton commercial carpet set and roof liner. The original single centre clock is correct and present as its original steering wheel. No fuss, just the basics, do you need anything else?
This Mini also has a fantastic bodyshell and is finished to a high gloss standard underneath and is very well detailed throughout, the subframes, brake and suspension components are all gleaming and it really is finished to a show condition. The paintwork is absolutely gleaming and it also sits on four refurbished wheels with Falken tyres. I have extra images of the underside to illustrate this Minis condition. It offers any lucky new owner the chance to drive a pure Mini which in turn will be very easy to maintain and ultimately benefit from all the love and attention that has been lavished on it.
The Mini is fully serviced, checked driven and tuned and and has a full no advisory MOT. It is also MOT and Tax exempt.
