Owned this since 2002 it’s been part of our family ever since. My dad bought it in York and we drove it all the way back to Normandy in France over a weekend. It’s a 1953 model with 35091 miles indicated. I reckon in the last 15 years she’s covered about 4000 or less miles. Over the years we have serviced it including brakes, added indicators, fuel tank cleaned and generally tidied up the previous owners modifications! All I can say is that this is an honest car but could do with tidying up. The bottom of the doors will need work and cosmetically it could do with a respray.
We had a second Somerset to restore/ use as a donor but ended up breaking it so we have a lot of spares. I’ve found a couple of leaf springs, two steering columns a prop shaft, two wheels, boot lid and bonnet, grill and tyres (old) plus labelled boxes and boxes of bits and pieces. All of these parts will included in the sale, I won’t be splitting it. The car was on a UK private plate which we sold and the car was transferred over to French registration as this is where the car is. The car has had minimal use over the last 30 months but runs and drives and could be driven back to the UK. Although I’d recommend transporting it. Car is located in Normandy, France.
