1927' Bentley 4 1/2 Litre

This craftsman built body frame has just been rescued from some commercial premises which are about to be demolished. As far as we know the original owner of the business was a Bentley enthusiast who died some 40 years ago and this body frame has been in dry storage in the building's attic since then.

I have compared its measurements with some drawings of a Bentley 3 litre chassis and it appears to fit though you will have to establish its suitability for your purpose.

We have no knowledge of when it was built but it appears to be quite old though the door frames seem to be of later origin than the body frame. It appears to be in good sound condition and may well have at one time been test-fitted onto a chassis but it has never been panelled though it has been partially covered with perforated metal possibly as precursor to being cotton wadded and fabric covered.

If you were to have a frame like this made today it would cost you a lot of money and you might have to wait a long time before it would be finished.
