Age: 86 years

The car is chassis number VA4092 with engine number VP4026. It is understood to be 1 of only 50 such cars built.

History:

– sold new in the UK and the first noted owner, Mr W Johnson, was a ship’s captain. It was then registered as YY3696.
– subsequently used by John Graham pre the war.
– the car was then used as a British staff car during World War II.
– the car then sat stored for many years and it was ultimately sold from a deceased estate.
– advertised for sale in the January 1981 issue of English Motorsport magazine.
– acquired by Lance O’Neil from Adelaide, Australia in the early to mid1980’s. O’Neil used the car sparingly, however, it was understood to have participated in the Sunrasia Rally. The car was registered as 990 OGS (Queensland).
– sold soon after (mid to late 1980’s) to the current owner.
– the car was found to be mechanically excellent, however, it did require a new clutch. The car was rewired, given a full cosmetic restoration (which included re-paint, re-chroming and new glass) and the interior was re-upholstered, a new head lining fitted fitted, new carpets fitted and the timber refurbished.
– subsequently the car has been run a number of rallies (then registered as DBO 030 in Victoria), however, in recent years it has been used sparingly.

Whilst an older restoration the car presents and drives beautifully today.

There is also a spare 4 litre engine # VA4079 that will accompany the car.

More information to follow soon.
