Seller's comments about 1937' BSA Scout Special

Unfortunately my much loved & well used Beeza (registered DNE577, 1937) is up for sale as I have lost my workshop storage & I don’t have the space. It is of course TAX & MOT exempt. My understanding is that she is basically a Series 2 Chassis with a Series 4 Engine, but has been fitted with Bendix cable brakes on all 4 wheels from a Series 6, which are a big improvement. It was featured in an article in the BSA Front Wheel Drive Cub magazine in June 2010. It has 12V electrics and has been fitted with a remote spin on oil filter, SU Carb & fuel pump, electric cooling fan & water pump (thermostatically controlled to cope with modern traffic conditions). The body is slightly modified in that it has cycle wings at the front & a modified curved rear incorporating a very useful little boot (the spare wheel being mounted just ahead of the driver’s door) and I believe the doors are slightly longer than normal, to aid access for those of us with dodgy knees! The majority of the complete restoration was carried out in 2001, with some further work done by myself in 2009. As you would expect given the above, it is showing a nice patina, but I’m sure would benefit from a little TLC. A complete new clutch assembly, release bearing & arm were fitted last year after the release bearing failed. Starts & runs well and is great fun to drive. Hood frame and “Emergency Hood” in light waterproof fabric is available, but the price below reflects the understanding that a bespoke hood will need to be manufactured. Price NOW REDUCED to £10,500 o.n.o., which I believe is a bargain for this type of vehicle. Viewing is recommended.
