1925 BUICK 24 four 35 4 door 5 seater TOURER (convertible)2366cc
Just arrived. Oozing charm and character, it is our pleasure to offer this unmolested and unrestored 96 year old Buick 4 cylinder Tourer. We think she may be the most original Buick Tourer available in the UK or possibly in the world and she is affectionately known as Jessie. Jessie was imported from Canada to Torquay for 3 maiden ladies, Miss Annie, Lizzie and Jessie Holland (for whom the car was named) who employed a chauffeur. In the mid 50’s their house, contents and Buick were auctioned and purchased by an old school friend whose father later purchased the car and was used for family and friends’ weddings.
Finished in black and maroon with dark blue leather trim complemented by a black hood. Lizzie has covered a mere 63, ooo miles, (believed to be correct and warranted by the last owner) in her whole lifetime and this month was driven very successfully from Blandford to our showroom in Sandbanks and was much admired on the way. This motor car is both tax exempt and MoT exempt.
The Buick Motor Company Flint, Michigan, UDA wrote in their brochure ‘that the new Buicks for 1924/ 5 are not merely new with a few outstanding features – these are new cars in every particular’. However, they have preserved the basic principles that have made Buick famous.
The features include: original wooden steering wheel, 31x4” original artillery wooden wheels, ‘Jessie’ name plaque, original hood, external radiator temperature gauge, nickel plated headlights and grille, rear footstools, opening door pockets on all four doors with leather covering flap and opening large pocket on rear of front seat for storage with a covering leather flap. The original and valuable registration number of TT 5637 can be purchased by separate arrangement. Documentation includes: original Buick operation and care instruction manual+copy (for use when working on the car), original spare parts price list including diagrams, Insurance valuation 2009/ 2010, 2 x MoT’s, invoices and receipts for upkeep/ servicing, certificate of insurance, original buff log book, current V5, continuation logbook, gov uk vehicle tax form, Buick original sales brochure, bill of sale x 2, description write-up, recent photo and period photographs, Wikipedia write up on Buicks, business cards, Carsons antiques and auto spares for the Buick 1924 and onwards.
This imperious looking example with an impressive degree of refinement is a very rare find and a wonderful vintage motor car. Offered at £ 16995
