1949' Cadillac Fastback Sedanette

For sale is my UK registered 1949 Cadillac Fastback (Sedanette). Bought from Gas Monkey in Dallas this beauty starts and drives really well and is the next best thing to Cadzilla! It is dark metallic blue, there is no rust and is in exceptionally good condition for a 68 year old car. It has been lowered a little and has wide whites and electronic ignition. The interior is better than my living room, blue velour bench seat in the front seats 3. All original Art Deco style dash features present. Seats 6 in comfort.

Postwar prosperity in the US demanded the dynamic and exciting designs that only Harley Earl could deliver and nowhere was that more evident than in the 1949 Cadillac Sedanette! New for 1949 was the 331 cid V8 that produced 160HP with improved reliability (and fuel economy) along with a lighter weight and tighter dimensions! The engine was a sensation, so much so that it was rushed off to race tracks across the country. Almost-stock Caddys with big racing numbers plastered on their sides were seen roaring down race tracks within a few short months. The cars were so hot that famed Briggs Cunningham took the Caddys racing, even to the 24 hours of Le Mans in France. There, a near-stock Coupe de Ville finished tenth overall against the world's finest racing machinery. The British Allard Company even used the engine in its new J-2 sports/racing car. This excellent example was found hanging out in Southern California where only the third owner was enthusiastically caring for it. It has been maintained and tastefully modified throughout the years with an exterior that has been re-sprayed and shows well with a glossy finish and good chrome trim present with a few minor chips(see all pics). The interior has been well preserved with period correct matching Blue Velvet upholstery that is in good condition and looks right at home at the Drive-in or local cruise night!(see all pics). The original 331 V8 runs well powering the Hydr-Matic transmission smoothly through the gears. Driving this well presented Cadillac brings back memories of our automotive past that are only available with this much chrome wrapping around you!
