This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Heavy Chevy tribute is a great way to present a rare and distinct version of one of the most iconic hardtops out there. And it only gets better on this example that enhances its small block power V8 and features upgrades like an overdrive transmission, performance suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. The Heavy Chevy is a hardtop of legend. It gave a powerful look to the small block Chevelles, but these hardtops were only available for two years. So we even like seeing tributes because it says the owner knows a bit more about Chevelle history than just a casual enthusiast. But the real reason why you want this one is because its the right mix of boldness and upgraded driver. This starts with the upgraded red paint. This later respray continues to have a radiant style thats right on a muscle car. And a Heavy Chevy looks powerful with the power dome hood, blackout grille, and wide exhaust tips. They also upgraded the intimidation with a forward-leaning stance and competition-style Torq Thrust wheels. Plus, the unique stripe package lets the Heavy Chevy leave a weighty impression. But more than just look powerful, everything from the bright chrome on the bumpers to the way the doors close with confidence gives you the right feeling of quality. The black accents get you ready for a clean and inviting all-black interior. Its nicely detailed, right down to the working dome light and horseshoe shifter. There are even upgraded speakers already in place for you to put in a stereo of your choosing. There are the right upgrades for a cool cruiser, like the front bucket seats and a center console with cup holders. And the upgraded sports steering wheel and Dakota Digital gauges give you the proper feeling of an upgraded drivers car. The engine bay may just be our favorite part of this car, and its not just because tit has an awesome polish radiating from the center against the dark inner walls. The Heavy Chevy always looked mean, but insurance regulations in the early 1970s meant these were small block cars that didnt have the power to be as legendary as its Super Sport siblings. However, this car rectifies that with serious power. It correctly still keeps the small block power, but the 383 cubic in stroker motor means it has a displacement that rivals some big blocks. And this recently rebuilt motor has go-fast goodies like aluminum heads, an aluminum intake, and topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. And a nice set of headers lets the exhale with power into the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is a TCI Streetfighter unit that can handle big power and deliver overdrive comfort. This feeds a stout Ford 9-inch rear. As you look underneath, you can see an upgraded sports suspension with QA1 tubular front A-arms, boxed rear arms, and QA1 sway bars. Add in power steering, wide modern tires, and a four-wheel power disc brakes upgrade, and this is a powerful hardtop that also can cruise with confidence. The sale comes complete with build receipts and maintenance records. This Chevelle pays tribute to the Heavy Chevy by giving you bold looks and upgrading it to an awesome all-around muscle car.
