Fully restored1 of 694Citroën Heritage AttestationMatching NumbersIn 1960 the 2CV 4×4 Sahara appeared, later called the 2CV bimoteur.It has an additional engine-transmission unit in the rear, mounted in reverse, driving the rear wheels.Both engines can operate independently and also separately, delivering 14. 5 PS each.Both gearboxes are operated with only a single central shift lever instead of the 2CV's typical revolver-style gearshift.To make the car more off-road capable, the chassis was reinforced at several points and given an underbody protection in the front area. The rear wheel arches featured a curved cutout. In addition, the stronger wheel bearings from the Citroën Ami 6 and larger tyres are used.Only 694 examples were built up to 1968.
