1972' Citroen SM

An SM of the very highest calibre.

This fuel injected example was first registered new in France on 6th December 1972, the purchaser being one Jean Daniel, the Official Citroen Agent for Bordeaux, with the car being registered in his name. The SM remained in his possession until March 2003. The second owner who, judging from the continuing exceptional level of maintenance, was just as fastidious as the first, sold the car some thirteen years later, in July 2016, when it came to the UK and where it is now registered.

The complete history of this car is fully documented from new, to date, and consists of a large ring binder full of invoices for parts and servicing, as well as the original Citroen Dealer wallet containing the Driver’s Manual and original Service Book, the latter fully stamped as well as containing detailed annotation relating to work carried out at each service. The mileage presently stands at a little under 75,000 miles.

Fitted with the optional air conditioning which has just been recharged and blows ice-cold, manual gearbox and tinted glass.

The condition of the 100% original interior is unlikely to be bettered in any example, anywhere, at any price. The Natural leather is supple and undamaged. There is even the original clear plastic protection in place on the passenger side to protect the sill carpeting during ingress and egress. The aroma completes the time-capsule feel.

The boot area is also completely original, the spare wheel containing the original and complete SM tool kit.

The coachwork is immaculate and wholly rust free.

Mechanically superb and impeccably maintained, down to the fitment of the correct specification Michelin XWX tyres.

SMs of this standard are very few and far between.
