Seller's comments about 1952' Citroen Traction Avant 11B
Welcome to Oldie Point! We are always looking for vintage and classic cars! We look forward to your offer! "Traction Avant" means something like "front-wheel drive" and is the common name for the first front-wheel-drive Citroën series models that were built between 1934 and 1957. The "TA" is one of the first cars with a self-supporting body. This made it lighter and had a lower center of gravity than most competitors. Through a series of technical innovations, excellent road holding and comfort were achieved for the time. An advertising slogan from Citroën was: "La Traction Avant dompte la force centrifuge", translated: The Traction Avant tames the centrifugal forces. The example presented here was registered for the first time in Switzerland on September 1, 1952 and was extensively restored there after a fulfilling first car life. It was imported to Austria by the current owner in August 2013 and has only been driven around 25,000 km since then. His longest journey so far was an absolutely successful and trouble-free expedition to Morocco with other Citroën like-minded people. Since the import, the engine has been completely rebuilt, the gearbox, clutch, brakes, wiring, headlight pots and glasses have been completely replaced, as well as the radiator has been overhauled and the starter serviced and the Bendix replaced. The rims were sandblasted, repainted and fitted with new tires. The half waves were swapped to homokinetic. A well-known TA problem was also resolved during the revision - the rear row of seats, where they connect to the longitudinal bars, were reinforced as recommended by Citroën. All of this work was extensively documented photographically - the corresponding invoices and inscriptions are also available, as is a more recent valuation report. Due to this good maintenance and repair, this "Traction Avant" works like it did on the first day! Commission sales on behalf of customers, therefore no warranty.
