Seller's comments about 1974' DAF 66
This sporty 1300 Marathon Coupe was delivered new in 1974. It was delivered in the beautiful Neona yellow color, exactly as described in the brochure. The exterior is in very good condition and the paint shines beautifully. Of course, there are some signs of wear, but that's to be expected considering its age. The exterior is recognizably Marathon thanks to the double grille with spotlights, the special Marathon striping, and the special rims! A nice detail is the original DAF bumper guards. And then there's the driving experience: the car drives fantastically.
The interior is just as beautiful! Beautiful nun's hood seats and a sleek rear bench, both without any signs of wear. The dashboard has a wood-effect finish and the Marathon center console with a clock and vacuum gauge. All the buttons and gauges work properly
No expense has been spared on this DAF mechanically. It drives absolutely fantastic! The original 1, 298cc Marathon engine sounds nice and smooth and has excellent acceleration. It's truly powerful, making it perfectly suited to today's traffic. The Variomatic / Automatic drive has been completely overhauled and balanced in the past. This makes it drive perfectly. The Variomatic whistles when driving off and sounds perfectly quiet afterwards. Just as it should be.
