Daimler Sovereign was a name applied by the British manufacturer Jaguar to a sequence of luxury automobiles between 1966 and 1983. The V12 versions of the Daimler were named 'Double-Six' after the pre-war Daimler V12’s.
The Daimler Double-Six was introduced in 1972 and used Jaguar’s 5. 3-Litre V12 engine. These cars were luxurious, serene and effortlessly powerful. Even better were the 'Vanden Plas' examples. People used to say these cars were as good as the Rolls Royce of their day.

This specific Daimler Double Six Series II 5. 3-litre V12 VandenPlas was orignally delivered in The Netherlands on the 23th of March in 1979. The car always remaind in Holland and had only 3 owners since. The first owner kept the car 24 years untill he sold it in 2003. In 2004, the car was sold to its current Dutch owner.
In the period 2008-2010 the car was extensively restored in The Netherlands by Jaguar specialists Stenger. A huge photo documentation is available from the restoration. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt and some original upgrades from Jaguar were done as an anti-lock bracking system (ABS). It is clear that no expenses were spared to bring the car back in splendid condition.
The restoration costs exceed the price by far. We are informed that more than 100. 000,- Euro was spent on the car. The result speaks for itself: this Daimler is not only a pleasure to look at, but also to drive. Beautifully finished in ‘Mistletoe’ metallic with an brown leather interior, which may well have been a factory order for its first owner.

This must be a very good proposition or even a bargain price maybe.. This is British class at its best. Dutch (ECC) registered and fresh APK (like MOT/ TUV).
