This 1973 Dodge Charger SE impresses with its bold color and big 440 V8. But theres more going on here. The SE package is a premium trim, and this one delivers that in the details. Plus its all done in a well-presented and very vintage style to create true V8 nostalgia on wheels. The impressiveness starts with the paint. The trim tag tells us this was born a triple black car -paint, vinyl roof, and interior - which is always desirable. But this one has been given plenty of more modern investments that keep the vintage style but make everything fresher and more distinguished. So the black paint was traded for something we like even more, a bold color that holds close to 1973s high-impact Top Banana. It looks like it could glow in the dark thanks to an investment in a nice respray during its lifetime. All that radiant style knows how to show off the good sheet metal. To stand out against this neon-like color, they did some of the best details in black. It includes the power dome of the hood, the full-length sports stripe package, and the rear stripe that shows off a well-integrated hint of tail fin. All this black also goes nicely with the SEs premium half-vinyl roof. But more than just its fantastic colors, this one utilizes brightwork to complete the aggressive package. The front bumper helps emphasize the coupes wide style, the rear bumper is one of the best form-fitting units of the era, and the dual exhaust tips are notched into the valance. And we love the shine and stance of the 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. The black accents of the exterior are also a nice preview of the full black interior. This has a terrific level of originality, right down to the button-top pattern on the bucket seats. But this isnt a true time capsule. The clean look of the carpeting, dash, wood-like trim, and other fundamentals give the impression of a lot of thoughtful fresh investment to keep this look so 1970s chic. These might have been Dodges intermediate coupes back in the day, but today that means seating up to five in complete luxury. This comfortable cruiser attitude is also why you have factory rarities like air conditioning (its running R134a but will need servicing) and an AM/FM radio. And this Charger is an engaging driver with the factory three-spoke steering wheel, center console with Slap Stick shifter, and optional round gauge package with a large speedo and tach. Under the hood is an upgrade to Mopars mighty 440 cubic-inch V8. It has a clean style that puts details like the blue block, yellow inner walls, and bold orange air grabber on full display. More than just look great, its a true muscle car powerhouse. This now inhales deeper with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with added power and authority as headers feed the dual exhaust. It shows good maintenance, and youll likely just want to give it your custom tune to decide how you want to dial-in this for a full cruiser or a blacktop bruiser. Plus, with a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a rear sway bar, youll truly have an easy time behind the wheel. This coupe has been given the right investments for you to truly enjoy vintage Mopar motoring. So if you love a great big block legend with added distinction, call today!
