Seller's comments about 1928' Essex Hudson Super Six

1928-Hudson-Essex-Super-Six-Right-Hand-Drive For Sale

A real Bonny and Clyde. One of the most original examples you will ever find. Last owner for over 50 years. Imported from New Zealand in October 1992 by it's owner who came back to settle in the UK.

This car has never been offered for sale in the UK till now. Brand new offering to the classic car market. When she was not being used it was stored in a dry garage jacked up on wooden block with the wheels suspended. Storing like this keeps all the wheels and suspension components in tip top condition. Leaf springs will loose their rigidity if left in the same position with weigh aboard and the wheels will buckle is left for for long periods of time also without this. One of the reason along with low ownership that this car is in such great condition.

Have a look at the pictures to see what we mean. The radiator cap is unique to the 1928 model and was not fitted to any model thereafter. Have a good look at the bumpers and grille. These are the original dull nickel and not chrome plated like fully concourse restored examples. These are original and have never been changed or damaged. Exactly the same hand made bumpers as there were made in 1928. Totally original. The Hudson Essex badge on the radiator is as it was when built just a bit faded in places which give it great character. The bumper emblem is is again in Nickel and as it is was when car was made. All the lights are original with the exception of the indicators which had to be fitted for UK roads.

The interior has without doubt had a re trim but is very much in keeping as it was when made. Finished in a corded striped material which was very popular in that era. Not the most appealing in the pictures but once you see this in the flesh so to speak it very suitable and visually correct.

All door handles, fixture and fitting are the original and have stood the test of time very well indeed. A credit to the makers. The roof has had a new cover a some point but this has been done very tastefully and in keeping with the era. All body panels are as straight and true as she left the factory.

No signs of any accident damage and all paint work is excellent with the original semi satin sheen. All the wheels are the original wooden spooks and all in excellent condition with the Hudson centre caps present. All spokes are as tight as the day she left the factory.

As regards the paperwork for the car we have the original 1928 hand book. Whilst not new is still in a very readable and usable condition. An original parts catalog book which is again 1928 also come with the car.

Stack of sales brochures and other paper memorabilia of which some are photo copies and some original. Quite simply if your looking for a bit of nostalgia that won't break the bank it will be very hard to find better. Kept in this condition the value of this can only go in one direction. Either as an investment, advertising, a lot of fun or buying it for memories, this car will give all these and more.

Another major plus buying this car is, there many spare parts available including a crankshaft, headlamp lens, pistons, con-rods, clutch, flywheel, spare wheel and much much more. These can be purchased with the car for and additional fee. We can arrange for vehicle export worldwide if you wanted to repatriate to the southern hemisphere. Please contact us for a quote.
