This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show 2026 on Saturday the 21st of March - Sunday the 22nd of March, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
First registered in 1973, this matching numbers UK car has benefitted from detailed restoration with attention to originality, supported by good history including repair invoices, old MOTs and tax discs
Finished in its original factory Coral Red colour following a full bare shell restoration, this example retains much of its original brightwork and glass, replacement OE Carello lights and folding sunroof, whilst the interior benefits from original seat covers, new Italian carpets and a period Motorola radio
The rear-mounted air-cooled engine has been rebuilt with new liners, rings, bearing shells, pistons and cylinders, the carburettor reconditioned and the braking and suspension systems restored, retaining the original first gear non-synchromesh 4-speed gearbox and riding on correct OE Pirelli tyres
Restored both bodily and mechanically, corrosion was addressed with new front wings, front panel, boot floor and sections of rear arch metalwork, the shell blasted and repainted, wiring loom checked and refitted, and numerous components either renewed or refurbished in keeping with original specification
