1983 Ford Capri 1600 LS 4-speed in Cardinal Red with light grey Cabaret-style interior. 60000 miles, MOT April 2023.
This car has been subject to intensive bodywork and mechanical repairs over the last six months by members of the Scottish Capri Club based here in Aberdeen, a full list of everything carried out is available if required however the main points are as follows -
Bodywork
Both A Posts repaired correctly at the front sill ends using repair panels. Localised inner wing rail repairs carried out, passenger side OEM wing tidied up and re-used, new old-stock pattern drivers wing fitted. Further localised repairs made at both upper scuttle ends, drivers sill step and sill rear end, passenger side lower rear quarter replaced and previous front footwell repairs tidied up at both sides. New front footwell support outriggers fitted on both sides. Doors repaired as was bonnet front section and tailgate at lower window seal area. Sunroof seal replaced with new quality Mk2 Golf item, sunroof tilts and slides fine with no issues Door window runner seals and scraper seals replaced with new items Brand new windscreen fitted with a very good used rubber, new Bosch wiper blades front & rear Full body repaint in the car's factory colour, Cardinal Red Bumpers and bumper brackets have all been powder-coated, new front indicators and inner main beam units replaced. All locks work with the same key, spare key also included
Mechanical
Full service with timing belt, water pump, thermostat housing, alternator belt, radiator hoses replaced, coolant, oil & filter changed. The gearbox was removed, new gaskets & seals fitted and new oil. Rear axle diff cover replaced and new oil. Brakes overhauled with new master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, recent front calipers with new pads, pins, hoses front and rear, most brake pipes replaced as well as the handbrake cable. Front track control arms replaced with new anti-roll bar sleeves, steering rack gaiters and track rod ends are new. Tracking professionally set up when the car was MOT'd. The rocker cover, timing belt cover and radiator cowl have all been powder-coated
New heater fan motor fitted which works on both speeds, heater matrix replaced with new item.
This car is ready to jump into and enjoy, all of the major issues have been addressed.
