Ford Cortina 1500 GT - Lightweight, Quick, and Full of Character.
The Ford Cortina GT brought real performance to the compact sedan world.
Powered by a lively 1. 5-liter "Kent" engine with upgraded carbs and tuning, it delivered sharp acceleration and sporty handling.
With its clean lines, GT badges, and driving dynamics inspired by motorsport, the Cortina GT became a favorite among enthusiasts and racers alike, a true British performance classic.
For Sale
This 1967 Cortina GT is a very nice and rare unrestored example with only 2 previous owners. Speedometer is showing just over 70 000 km, judging by the condition of the car I would say this reading to be correct but there is no proof of this.
I have owned quite a few of these over the years and this is by far the best unrestored example that I have seen.
Exterior
I have measured the paint thickness, and it is very low, this leads me to believe that it is still original paint. There are a few small areas that look to have had a little touch up, but nothing major. The paint is still very presentable as can be seen in the photos, it is not perfect though as to be expected being original.
All chrome trim and bumpers are very nice and original, this would help verify the milage.
Panel caps are great, and the car is very straight.
Interior
Interior is in excellent condition.
The carpet is a bit stained but there is a new carpet included, I personally wouldn’t change the carpet as it is nice to have the original one fitted. Original steering wheel is also included.
All dials work as they should.
Mechanics
Starts up well, even after not being used for a while.
Really nice to drive, hard to believe that you are driving a nearly 60-year-old car.
It would benefit from a good service, this is my plan this winter if it does not sell.
Summary
A great rust free unrestored Mk1 Cortina GT that is ready to be used and enjoyed, a rare find. Cars like this a becoming very rare and will only increase in value.
