1946 Ford Deluxe Coupe Hotrod
Here's an amazing Ford Deluxe Coupe hotrod. High quality $50,000 build cost.
Just about everything on this hotrod is new and custom built other than the main shell of the body. Since being built it's only done 10,800 miles. But the paintwork suggests most of the work was done perhaps 5 years ago as there are a few imperfections. From a few feet though, the car still looks like it just drove out of a showroom and turns more heads than a line of Lamborghinis.
Bodywork
All steel body.
'Candy apple red' metallic paint which I believe is House of Colour. Excellent finish like a sheet of glass. Tinted windows. Suicide doors, no handles, they open with the key fob. Attention to detail includes secret release buttons hidden under the car in case of a flat battery and safety solenoids which electrically lock the doors once the car is moving - you don't want suicide doors opening at 100mph as the wind would rip them backwards!
The custom bodywork includes: bespoke rear light mouldings - the lights look like they came off a Cadillac Fleetwood which are flipped 90 degrees. The roof gutters have been shaved and smoothed, the car debadged, door handles removed, and dechromed grill, lights, side trim, etc. There are custom chrome bumpers with a ‘Ford’ logo embossed on rear.
Chassis
Custom made and strengthened chassis. All new, rust free, painted satin black.

Wheels
Polished 5 spoke Eagle alloy wheels with BF Goodrich tyres.

Motor
New crate Chevy 5.7 motor. Everything else new - belts, alternator, hoses, leads, chrome air filter, etc. etc. etc. Since build the car has done only 10,800 miles. Performance parts include Edelbrock manifold and Edelbrock polished and chromed headers, etc. Mallory ignition module.
Colour coded metallic red firewall, radiator, brake servo, engine block, and more, same as the bodywork, looks amazing and super clean.
Transmission
I was told the transmission was new but from the number on it I believe it is a reconditioned 3 speed Chevy gearbox and 9" axles from a late 80s Camaro or Nova.
Interior
Custom cream leather interior with red velvet diamond stitch quilted inserts and 3D moulded surrounds. The inserts are shaped to follow the lines of the seat bases. Custom moulded interior panels including in the boot. Quality thick beige carpets. Wooden/aluminium GT steering wheel. Billet shifter with safety button. Chrome and polished stainless steel handles, door pulls, dial surrounds, control knobs, cup holders, etc. Custom made stainless shifter surround and heater controls with chrome Telecaster controls knobs.
Electrics
Since getting the car, my auto electrician has gone through all the electrics (50 hours) as they had become temperamental through lack of use. The car has air con, heater, defrost. There are electric windows, safety locks on suicide doors, Clarion radio/CD with Pioneer speakers, hidden aerial, 2x lighter/charger points.
Emergency door and boot opening.
Suspension
When I took these photos the car was slightly higher at the back than the front. But I have since lowered the rear end with 2" blocks on the leaf spring suspension so it has a nicer, level, low stance. Performance struts. Front coils. Again all new. Adjustable steering column.
Exhaust
All new stainless steel from headers to the chrome tailpipes.
Lights & Glass
Tinted glass all round. Split-screen windscreen. Custom chrome windscreen wipers. New window seals.
