This car was recently featured on the Giveaway Guys competition site. The lucky winner took a cash alternative so we are marketing the car on their behalf.1976 Ford Escort MK2 Mexico which has recently undergone a full bare metal restoration. The car was purchased by the last owner in 2023 from a gentleman who had owned it since 1985. It had been in dry storage for many years. Its a genuine car and is matching numbers with its original engine. We have photos of the car prior to its restoration and a USB stick showing before , during and after the restoration. We have the V5 here showing 8 previous owners. The car is showing 68850 Miles.Body - Genuine Mexico with all the correct brackets in the correct places. Strut top number visible, original chassis plate and build plate. Car was stripped bare, blasted underneath and any repairs carried out as required. It was then repainted in its original Signal Green with Dove Grey floor and green under the arches and sills. The back panel is painted black, which it wasnt originally on this car but the owner preferred it. This is the subject of much debate on Mexicos as many people say they didnt come like that..... others will tell you it was an option. We dont know we are only the janitors!! Again originally the sills would be black but the owner liked the clean look as it is. Stripes are a little high round the arches if Im being extremely picky but easily fixed if needed.Mechanics - The car still retains its original matching numbers engine, which was rebuilt during the restoration process. Everything has either been rebuilt, refurbished or replaced including the rear axle which was stripped and rebuilt. Owner fitted single leaf springs, rear bilstein shocks. All brake pipes, lines, discs etc are new. Janspeed exhaust. The car starts runs and drives very well. Again if we are being picky it could do with dropping a little on the ride height but again thats minor detailInterior - Original seats have been refurbished using Aldridge covers. Correct white needle dash clocks which all work as they should. New headlining fitted. New door cards fitted. Rera headlining needs tightened up a bit but again this is something we can attend to.Wheels- The original steels were not available. Its currently sitting on a set of JBW 7" 4 spokes but we have now sourced a set of steels. Buyer can choose what they want on itGenuine car which has had a fortune spent on it and turns heads wherever it goes. You are welcome to come and see the car.
