1973' Ford Escort Mexico Recreation

Ford escort MK1 Recreation 1973. 6 previous owners 4 speed manual. I bought this car last year from a chap up in Kent who had her for 22 years. The only reason he sold it was because the car was stored at his mum's house and unfortunately she had passed away so she had to be sold as they lost storage. When I went to see her I was gob smacked to see how clean and solid she was. She started first time and sounded beautiful with no smoke or rattes coming from the engine. I took her for a test drive and was plesently surprised how smooth she drove through all the gear changes. When I bought her she was red in colour with a gold stripe from the bonnet to the boot. NOT my cuppa tea so I knew what I was going to do with her. Drove her back straight to my mates body shop stripped her completely including engine out. I have all pictures of work carried out on her since my ownership from start to finish. This work to over 10 months in which time anything that needed changing on the engine was done. I've put electronic ignition all new hoses new plugs basically given her a full service. She was rubbed down to nearly bare metal and painted black with all New Mexico decals. She has a original Mexico 1600 x flow engine with twin 45's original Mexico wings and more or less immaculate RS roll top interior with RS logos on the front 2 seats. She's sitting on 7x13 deep dish chrome minilites with more or less brand new Yokohama tyres.. she's MOT till end of August 2017 but I will put a fresh MOT for the you owner. She is still sitting in the body shop and has not seen the road yet. I have to get the carbs all set up and give her a good tune up sometime this week. You will not be disappointed in her.
