Seller's comments about 1973' Ford Escort Mk 1 Escort 1300E

Hello and welcome, it is with much regret that I am selling this 1973 Escort 1300e project. I bought this car in 2013 with the intention of a full restoration, after starting to strip the car our daughter was born and the project got shelved. It has sat in the same spot in our barn since. Fast forward to 2019 with kids, a mortgage and absolutely no spare time, I am pretty sure by the time I get it on the road fossil fuels will be completely banned or depleted so I am offering it for sale in the hope somebody will get it back on the road.
So the car itself is in pretty good order the shell is a good solid base for a restoration. There is rust in the usual Ford places. Both suspension strut tops have been repaired badly, I cut away the drivers side one to check the chassis number was correct but both sides will need repairing. The sills are in good order and look like they have been repaired. The spare wheel well and boot floor are in good order although there is a small hole in the fuel tank well. The floor is good with some small repair patches on both sides and the chassis rails appear very solid. The front wings will need repairing or replacing, the front valance appears new.

The car was last on the road in 2008, I bought this car as it was a good relatively solid basis for restoration, it does need work but is not a complete rusted out shell and as you can see in the pics most of the parts are present. The only major parts missing are the front seats. There is also a collection of parts which I bought for the project including a 1600 crossflow engine which could be part of the deal if the price is right. The V5 is in my name and states 1300e.
So to conclude we have an excellent base for a project car. It has been dry stored for the entire time I have owned it.
You can come and view the car if you wish to take a closer look. I am based near Royston, Herts.
Sensible questions are welcome. I will not entertain stupid offers time wasters etc. I will NOT swap it for a motorcycle, camper van, reliant robin, your dads gold watch, or any other random item.
I don’t really want to sell this car but it’s spent the last 6 years sitting in a barn doing nothing and the domestic authorities feel we could put the money to better use.
