This 1928 Ford Model A is for sale in our Chicago showroom. This unique rat rod style vehicle is powered by a Datsun B210 1.6L I4 and 5 speed manual transmission. The frame is from a 1928 Ford model A Roadster Pickup from Speedway Motors, the grille shell and gas tank are from a 1949 Waukesha, and the windshield is chopped 5". The front suspension is a split buggy spring and split wishbone with friction shocks and the rear is a Model A with gas shocks and a split wishbone. The steering system is from the Model A and has a 1913 Model A steering wheel. The wheels are from a 1932 ford Model B and the tires are Firestone Ground Grips 16x6 in front and 16x7.50 in the rear. This Rat Rod was finished about 3 short years ago. Originally a counter-reaction to the high-priced "customs" and typical hot rods, many of which were seldom driven and served only a decorative purpose. The rat rod's inception signified a throwback to the hot rods of the earlier days of hot-rod culture—built according to the owner's abilities and with the intention of being driven.
