This magnificent Mustang we sold several years ago. It has not being exercised enough recently having only covered 4, 500 miles since 2019. We now are delighted to offer this stunning pony for sale again. Reminiscent of Steve McQueen’s 68 Fastback in the most famous car chase of all time from the now iconic film Bullitt, this beautiful Highland Green Coupe is equally exciting as those scenes shot in San Francisco.
The history of this car and the quality of its restoration are the key here, you see, very few Mustangs survive in the hands of their original owner, but this Coupe did so until 2015. It had been kept unused in dry storage for many years and its mileage of 78, 582 is absolutely genuine. It is an original Black plate Californian car which was purchased after many years of persistence by a true “American Mustang Maniac “who set about restoring it in every detail to its original specifications.
We visited the second owner at his home in Whitter which is a city in Southern California, where we were eventually able to buy this magnificent Mustang. All his hard work is apparent please see the list of works carried out with new / refurbished parts during his restoration process. As you can see the complete drive train has been overhauled along with all mechanical systems, the perfect corrosion free body has been repainted beautifully and the interior is all new but correct to the original as it left the San Jose plant in 1968. Please see the Marti Report showing its original specification.
Everything is working including the Air Conditioning System which along with Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes make this Mustang a joy to drive. The restorer fitted American Racing Torque Thrust Alloy Wheels which are period correct and along with the Twin Exhaust System are the only upgrades on the car which stray from the original although perhaps we should include the AM/ FM Digital Period Radio here as well.
This is an outstanding car and gives the opportunity to acquire a genuinely low mileage Mustang in wonderful condition to enjoy as it would have been the day it left the showroom 50 years ago. This Mustang undoubtedly will be a superb addition to any collection. It could also be purchased for Sunday fun and the occasional car shows.
