Seller's comments about 1971' Ford Mustang
First of all: Forgive the ad in the “Mustang” category - this car should be found and not languish in the shadows in the “Other” category.
This extremely rare AMC Javelin SST from the 1971 model year was registered for the first time in Switzerland in June 1972, original with KMH speedometer. In a very beautiful state of preservation, it made it to Austria, namely Styria, in 2005 without any of the tinkering that was popular in the 80s and 90s. Here it was individually approved as a historic vehicle. At the beginning of the 2010s it came to Upper Austria, where its current owner refined it piece by piece over many years and also modernized it a little - but without damaging the classic, extravagant character of this muscle car.
The body shape is absolutely unique - no comparison to a Mustang, Charger, Challenger or Camaro from these years. The Javelins were also very successful in racing, winning the TransAm racing series from 1971 to 1973. The SST trim level was the more luxurious - with more equipment than the base variant, but fewer sporty gimmicks than the AMX.
The paint on this vehicle was renewed - on excellent sheet metal - and shines again in the silver metallic of the delivery.
As part of the complete rebuild of the original engine (360cid / 5.9 liter V8) with very high-quality components, a Holley-Sniper EFI injection system was also installed (almost) invisibly. Lead additives in the fuel are no longer necessary for the modernized cylinder heads. However, the engine's appearance has remained completely in the style of the 1970s - only connoisseurs discover the modern air conditioning compressor that supplies the Vintage-Air air conditioning system.
In the interior, the covers had to be specially made because there are no ready-made covers available for the Javelins. This production is very close to the original, but with significantly higher quality materials. The original steering wheel, which is in good condition, is also included in the sale - however, the currently installed Grant steering wheel offers a significantly improved driving experience thanks to its slightly thicker rim. If the great engine sound from the double-strand system isn't enough for you, there is also a Bluetooth-enabled retro sound radio with a classic look available for the background sound. The original wheels are also included in the sale.
§57a review has just been carried out - it is valid until 06/2025.
