During WW2  due to the war effort Ford made a very limited number of trucks from 1941-1946. The model year 1945 is hard to find. This truck has been in a collection and is 100% original from the yellow grill to the original flathead V8The War Production Board allowed the automobile companies to produce more vehicles for the civilian market starting in early 1945. Ford took this cue to boost production of its heavy-duty trucks, which were introduced in May of that year. Though they looked like Ford's 1942 models, they were treated to a number of modifications, including an improved V-8 engine. This rare 1945 Ford pickup looks more like a piece of industrial art than a 70-year-old workhorse. Simple and unadorned, but still wearing the Art Deco flair of the pre-war models on which it is based, the truck shows a well-used patina and, remarkably, it has survived intact just as it was built by Ford.“Here’s a rare truck that an entire nation was eager to see,” the dealer says in the description. “As World War II was winding down, civilian production began to gear up again. An industrial giant like Ford had access to steel even when it was in short supply, and so it was able to get a few new trucks back in the hands of Americans at home. This 1945 Ford pickup was one of those lucky few.“Trucks were the first civilian vehicles to come back after WWII because they were the workhorses needed to help rebuild in a peacetime economy.”This truck is pristine text or Call Randy at 386-689-9945 for questions about this truck and be prepared to leave a message he will call back in short order.
