Seller's comments about 1929' Ford Speedster
1929 Ford Speedster – Ford racing built, restored in perfection for concourse display, historic racing and capital gain
This stunning Ford Speedster has been build by Ford Racing. Technical specifications, Ford invoices, original 1929 car registration, race certificates and pictures for the years 1929 to 1932 come with the car.
This car is a perfect combination of both worlds:
• restored to participate and win concourse display, and
• powerful enough for participation in vintage races.
The car has won many concourse trophies.
The capital gain over recent years was in average 10% to 15% per year
The Speedster guarantees an incredible driving experience, directly connected to the road, with smell, noise, wind, and an unbelievable feeling of pre-war racing. Attention at any historic car show and race included. Driving in congested city traffic is easily possible due to massive torque combined with very low weight. The hydraulic brakes are as good as from modern cars. Long distance driving up to 60mph is possible too.
The restoration focused to restore the car into an original state, as close as possible to what Ford racing has done in the 1930’s. This includes a rare Ford Model B four-cylinder engine and very early hydraulic brakes as used in racing. The rebuild has come close to 35.000€ and includes many spare parts.
• Manufactured: July 1st 1929 (registration paper included)
• Race modification: April 9th 1930 (technical specification and invoice included)
• Horse power: about 85hp from 3300ccm,
• Empty weight: 1675 lb
• Maximum weight: 2205 lb
• Max speed: 103 mph
• Tyres: 19x6.5
Concourse restoration within three years, completed in 2018:

• 6.5:1 high compression cylinder head, the original cylinder head with 5.1:1 as spare
• Race downdraft carburettor with lambda adjusted set of jets
• Radiator and water pump overhaul
• 12 Volt electrical system with reconditioned gauges and head lights
• electronic ignition with spares, the original ignition comes as spare with the car
• Transmission full overhaul, new clutch
• Rebuild of brake shoes, master and wheel brake cylinder and pipes
• Reconditioned shock absorbers
• Original aluminium body repaired and hand-beaten where necessary
• paint is still pre-war with small restored patches, paint with finish coat to preserve the original paint with patina
• Restored rims with new set of dirt track racing tyres
• There are many restored spare parts coming with the car (2nd fully restored engine, 2 pcs. fully reconditioned transmission, front and rear axle, rims, tires, tubes, ignition, cylinder head, radiator, water pump, head lights, full set of shocks, full set of gaskets, brake drums, brake cylinder, steering box, boxes full of other parts…). Spares provide the car another 100+ years of life without worries to find the right spares
This Speedster is not a cheap replica put together in a hurry for low cost to look shiny – this Speedster was restored to original, with high quality, to look and feel original as possible.
