1957' Ford Thunderbird

This ford thunderbird is a very rare, genuine ‘e-code’ engine model, representing the range-topping choice of its day, benefiting from a restoration.

Under the bonnet is the 312ci (5. 1l) v8, fed by dual four-barrel carburetors, and producing up to 270hp. This is coupled to a two-speed automatic transmission.

The car appears to be highly original in terms of specification, with no known modifications. As an authentic e-code thunderbird, it is understood to be one of just 1,499 produced.

it comes with the correct ‘porthole’ factory hard top roof.
there is no known prior bodywork damage.
its paintwork is reported to be in generally excellent condition. There is a stone chip on the bonnet, which is clearly shown, but few other imperfections.

the black soft top and the colonial white hard top are both in very good order, in keeping with the rest of the car.
likewise, the interior is in great shape, with the bronze upholstery showing no wear or discolouration.

all of the tyres were replaced around three years ago, and are still in excellent condition with 8mm of tread. The radio seems to be connected, but has no sound. All other gauges are in working order, along with the heater, clock and lighting.

the last service was in february 2022 in malta. This included renewal of the engine oil and filter, air filter, new battery, automatic transmission fluid, differential oil, brake shoes, and all eight spark plugs. A new automatic transmission safety switch was fitted, plus differential gaskets and seals, and adjustments were made to the carburettors, service brakes, and handbrake.
